Verne Powell created his first metal flute in 1910 at his home in Fort Scott, Kansas. Often referred to as the "Spoon Flute", this instrument was one of the first all metal flutes made in the United States. This one of a kind instrument will be on display at the Powell booth during the NFA convention, so you may view it up close and personal!

We are particularly excited to debut our new Powell Sonaré piccolo at the convention. This revolutionary instrument features an American hardwood body, stainless steel art-deco mechanism and is completely made in the Powell workshop in Maynard, Massachusetts! It will be available for testing in the Powell booth throughout the convention.
