French cups have holes in 5 cups which allow for modern musical effects.
American Cups
These cups are closed, i.e. without holes (also known as plateau style). French cups can be temporarily converted to American with Plug-O's.

In-line G
The G keys are in the same radial position as the rest of the left hand keys.
Offset G
The G keys in the left hand are set lower to the left. This is more comfortable for some players and stays in adjustment better than in-line G.

Split-E Gold
The split-E makes it easier to hit E3.

The G disc is standard on all Conservatory flutes and makes it easier to play E3.
